White blonde...opinions?

Hello I am thinking of lightening my natural dark ash brown hair to white blonde like Jayne Mansfield color. I heard from some people it can look punk, tacky, or too girl next door. I am going for the chic and cly look though. My eyes are emerald green color and almond shaped and my skin is very cool toned pale. I wear my hair side parted around shoulder length like Lauren Bacall. I also dress sophisticated and chic in blazers, trousers, dresses...Do you think white blonde hair can look chic on me? How do you feel about the look? And will I have to lighten my brown eyebrows?
