Guys in school only please...regarding locker room issues.?

My best friends son is a Sophmore in high school and has been picked on for wearing tighty whities when he gets changed in the locker room. He is a popular guy and is a star athlete on his track team but the guys still give him a hard time. They aren't mean to him, but they say things in reference to tighty whities being for little kids not super cool high school sophmore jocks. If he switched from old school Hanes and FTL's to a designer brand like Calvin Klein do you think that would make a difference in how he is treated or will it be exactly the same situation as long as he wears tighty whities to school. Wearing CK briefs in high school seemed to squelch the comments when I was in high school but that was 12 years ago.
