So why weren't all the "good people" in AL toting guns able to stop the m shooter before ...?

This points out a basic flaw in the pro-gun theories. Whoever is fastest on the draw, or whoever is just a plain nut with a gun, can take out others before anyone has a chance to react, including the gun-toting people.
